The places a vacuum cannot reach and a cloth cannot enter are narrow ones: the gap between seat and centre console, the groove around the gear lever, the lip of the door pocket, the slats of the vents. This brush is shaped for them.

Dimensions and material

160 × 80 × 35 mm overall, ABS handle, nano-fibre bristles. It ships in a dustproof box, which mostly means it does not become a dust trap of its own in the boot.

The order of work

Crevices come straight after vacuuming and before anything damp. The dirt the brush pulls out of a crevice lands on the surface beside it — and that surface is going to be wiped anyway. The other way round means doing the work twice.

How to use it

The same sequence, whichever piece you are holding.

  1. After vacuuming

    Vacuum first, so the brush does not simply push loose dirt deeper.

  2. Work the crevice

    Draw it through the gap in one direction, not back and forth.

  3. Vent slats

    Go through the vent slats one at a time, from the inside outwards.

  4. Pick it up

    Take the released dust off with the microfibre cloth before it settles again.

  5. Put it away

    Tap it out and return it to the box so it stays clean.

Questions

How narrow is it?

The manufacturer gives 160 × 80 × 35 mm for the whole item. It states no separate figure for the head width.

Will it scratch plastic?

The manufacturer names nano fibre as the bristle material but no stiffness grade. Test on a hidden spot before using it on gloss trim.

Can I use it wet?

The manufacturer states no water resistance for the nano-fibre bristles, so we say nothing about it. We use it dry, before any moisture, and tap it out afterwards.
